The Secret Garden

The Secret Garden is a joyous story about the growth and blossoming of the earth and the human spirit. With lovable characters, and a beautiful musical score throughout, it’s sure to be a garden of delight for the ears and the imagination. Mary and Colin, whose natures have been badly warped, thrive with the discovery that selflessness opens a secret door to happiness, as a father reunites with his son and a young orphaned girl finds belonging and experiences a magical transformation.

FOUR: A Story of Love

MESSAGE FROM THE DIRECTOR OF DANCE

The concept of FOUR is created and directed by 9th Hour’s Director of Dance, Mishelle Stott. She shares her vision and passion for the project with us here:

“For our first dance show we have chosen to create a piece that is drawn from the life of an inspiring man and his family. That man was Rob Hall. Rob passed away on February 22, 2011 in Zambia, Africa. Through the beauty and passion of dance and movement, we want to provide a window into a life of love, sacrifice and hope. As it is the 50th anniversary of C.S Lewis’ death this year, and to celebrate his great literature we will be presenting the story with the influence of his work “The Four Loves”.

When searching for a choreographer to bring this story to stage through dance, Tressa Wilson’s name was foremost in my mind. Anyone who has worked with the brilliant choreographer knows that to Tressa it is more than just performing. With Tressa, it’s all about taking the audience on an emotional journey and expressing the raw emotions of the piece fully through creative movement. I am excited to be working with her on this beautiful life changing story.

We hope you will be a part of this journey by partnering with us to help bring this inspiring story to an Ottawa theatre in October of this year. We are grateful for all your support and look forward to telling the story with you.”
