The Screwtape Letters
date. July & August 2014
venue. Irving Greenberg Theatre Centre
credits. C.S. Lewis, Nigel Forde
In this stage adaptation of The Screwtape Letters by C.S Lewis, demons are trained and educated in an academic setting, by the legendary devilish Professor Screwtape to hone their skills in the doctrines of being discouraging, diabolical and deviant with their human patients, all in an effort to undermine “The Enemy”. This humorous and intelligently witty perspective and satirically entertaining spin on reality delves seriously into moral and theological questions about good and evil, temptation, faith, and prayer.
Presented in repertoire with and original adaptation of The Great Divorce as part of the 2014 Season "Into the Wardrobe" celebrating the works of C.S. Lewis 50 years after his death.
Nominated by the Capital Critics Circle for Best Production and Best Director.
